In collaboration with the Faculty of Organization and Informatics in Varaždin and their Center for Student Support and Career Development (CPSRK), we held a workshop in the renovated Villa Oršić, also known as FOI 3.

By donating network equipment, CRATIS participated in the renovation of Villa Oršić and contributed to the creation of state-of-the-art laboratories and Work Based Learning (WBL) classrooms for students, and one of the WBL classrooms is dedicated to CRATIS. The topic of the workshop was the implementation of security solutions for business users.

Our Chief Operations Officer, Dario Katava, introduced CRATIS and explained the security threats we face as one of the fastest-growing companies in the region. He addressed security threats not only from an engineering perspective but also from a management perspective, emphasizing the importance of planning and organisation in business.

One of the co-owners of CRATIS, Filip Sabalić, used real-life examples to elaborate the types and phases of cyber-attacks and the dangers they pose to companies regardless of their industry. Drawing from experience and numerous cyber-attacks in recent years, he shared several anecdotes and presented cases that have disrupted operations of renowned companies and harmed business operations in Croatia.

He informed students about the regulatory measures NIS2 and DORA, which were introduced to elevate cybersecurity in Croatia, and explained how CRATIS addresses the security issues of its business clients. In addition to regulatory measures, he mentioned other security mechanisms and potential non-technical security risks such as earthquakes and fires. Using our data center, DC North, as an example, he demonstrated how we have eliminated all security risks by integrating the latest technologies combined with careful project planning.

We are immensely proud to have the opportunity to foster an innovative approach to educating future economic and ICT experts and look forward to continuing our collaboration with FOI and CPSRK.
